The farm was built around 1800 and the project has been running for about 10 years. On show are 2 wind turbines, an array of solar panels, and 2 ground source heat pumps. The farm has solid wall insulation and underfloor heating, and utilizes rainwater recycling.

Visitors can view presentations on climate change and renewables, as well as data collected about energy consumption at this home and business. The farm grows its own fruit and vegetables.

This home is not fully accessible by public transport, but can be accessed via a lovely 1 or 2 mile walk from the bus stop at Stannington or the tram stop at Malin Bridge, or a cycle ride - contact Green Directions for more information via their website greendirections.co.uk/directions.html
