The house is a substantial passage-terraced house built before 1880, which was suffering from various draughts and cold-spots (which showed up with an internal temperature of -1C on a thermal imaging survey!)

Remedial work was specified and implemented by Nick Parsons of Sustainable Building, and associates. High spec windows were supplied/installed by Green Building Store.

The features on view are:

  • Doors fitted to external covered passageway/jennel (shared with neighbour) to reduce airflow and insulate passage walls/ceiling.
  • New high spec triple glazed timber windows fitted throughout, showing different options for fully opening or mock-sash opening.
  • Thin insulation used internally on walls where lack of space necessitates.
  • Insulation and sustainably sourced woodwork fitted to bay window to cure cold-spot.

Buses 53 or 20/20a or 43 or X17 stop nearby on London Road (by the Crown Inn).
